Role:  Food Technologist (Interim) with a European remit

Client:  St Pierre Groupe Ltd

Status: Fixed Term Contract (duration is of a minimum of 15 months maternity cover commencing May 2020)

Hours: Full Time 39 hour week (flexible start time between 8 am-10am)

Location: clients offices, Towers Business Park, Didsbury

Remuneration: competitive salary & benefits package (pro rata) or an equivalent day rate for a Limited Company contract

Reporting to the Technical Manager you will join the techncial team (4) who are responsible for ensuring that all products launched by St Pierre Groupe Limited are safe, legal and meet the agreed quality standards.  For this role:

Main Task: Manage supplier base adn UK own label retailers

Responsibilities:

  • HACCP team leader
  • Manage supplier base and warehouses
  • Understand and communicate UK customers Technical standards
  • Manage UK retailer launches and specifications
  • Support suppliers in maintaining retailers' specific factory standards
  • Organise and attend specific audits when required (customer, approval, hygiene, foreign body etc) and close off corrective action plan
  • Manage St Pierre Groupe HACCP, Quality Manual and internal audits
  • Manage product withdrawal and / or recall
  • Maintain St Pierre Groupe BRC accreditation

Candidate Specification - Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree qualified in a food related subject desirable
  • Food sector experience is essential, bakery is advantageous
  • Auditing
  • HACCP
  • Food Defence
  • UK Legal Labelling
  • Understand Certification for Agent & Brokers
  • Previous experience working with UK retailers is essential (especially Tesco)
  • Tesco Manufacturing Standard
  • Morrison Manufacturing Standard; and Food Integrity

Additional information:

  • This is predominantly an office based role but there will be a requirement for European travel (short trips) monthly on average
  • This role may suit either an ex-retailer or supplier experienced Food Technologist
  • Although interim this is a chunky fixed term contract of at least 15 months duration, and offers an excellent opportunity for European experience.
