The Procurement function within Edinburgh Instruments is looking for the leaders of the future.
Our graduate programme will equip you with the skills and experience necessary to become a qualified Procurement professional and onto a career path towards Procurement/Supply Chain Management roles.

The Role:
Position. We have a great opportunity for a Graduate who seeks a career in Purchasing / Supply Chain. What you'll be doing:
- Demand planning including forecasting, MRP, ordering & inventory management
- Supplier management including expediting, supplier collaboration, evaluation of quality delivery and cost performance
- Purchasing including supplier evaluation, negotiation, new product development, invoice management
Requirements. This role is ideally suited to a newly qualified Graduate or equivalent looking to gain experience within Supply Chain with a passion for building a career and be supported to study to gain CIPS. You will have:
- A relevant University degree and an interest in studying for CIPS
- Initiative and problem-solving mentality
- Analytical skills
- Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft office packages
- Confidence to collaborate with suppliers
- Good administrative skills
- A desire to progress
Job Purpose. To support the Purchasing Manager in the day-to-day administrational duties ensuring tasks outlined below are completed to deadlines efficiently and accurately.
Job Duties.
Day to day administration and assisting the smooth running of the department.
- Dealing with price amendments and price discrepancies
- Chasing internal and external stakeholders for information
- Assist with implementation of Process Improvements
- Maintaining Purchasing Data in MRP System
- Dealing with purchasing queries
- Monitoring and Managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Procurement
- Assessing and setting up new suppliers
- Manage action requests from internal and external stakeholders
- Set up and maintain replenishment parameters for new and existing stock items
- Raise purchase orders under supervision of the Purchasing Manager
- Forward expedite purchase orders and alert purchasing team to potential issues
- Send purchase orders through to supplier and confirm receipt by supplier
- Support Purchasing Manager in delivering agreed budgets & KPIs

Additional Details About the Role
Salary: A competitive salary package is available to the right candidate.
Hours: Contracted hours are 37.5 hours per week with flexible working hours (plus hybrid working)
