Techcomp Europe (TEU) is part of the Hong Kong headquartered global Techcomp Instrument Ltd (TIL) Group, which consists of a group of scientific instrument manufacturing businesses established through acquisition and investment. TEU is a profitable $60m business, with 250 employees and production sites in six countries; Group brands being: Scion, Edinburgh Instruments, Froilabo, Precisa, Techcomp, Dynamica and ixrf systems. With impressive growth plans via acquisition, organic growth and a focus on product development, this is an exciting career opportunity for a dynamic experienced CEO looking for a strategic European group leadership role in a global organisation. TEU manage the business in Europe, Middle East and the Americas directly, and TIL group manage the majority of the commercial operations in Asia.

Reporting to the TIL Group Chairman, the TEU CEO will also be a member of the global senior team. Currently a $120m privately owned business, TIL has ambitions to grow sales revenue significantly by acquisition and organic growth, and list again in one of the major global stock markets. TEU CEO is a multi-dimensional technical and commercial role, the remit being to lead the team to achieve revenue and profit targets, bring strong industrial/market knowledge to lead strategy around the management of new product development and manufacturing processes, and further harness the opportunity of the global supply chain. Key responsibilities are:

  • TEU Group P&L and strategic direction setting
  • Leadership, management and development of the five TEU Group company CEOs/GMs
  • Contribute significantly to the integration between Asia and Europe businesses
  • Identification and development of acquisition opportunities
  • Regular travel to the various TEU Group locations, key customers and global stakeholders

The successful candidate will have strong Scientific Instrument market experience and good P&L performance track record across a diverse geographic and technology portfolio. Ideally educated to Masters / PhD level with a related scientific discipline and have a strong knowledge of analytical applications and the development of trends in research techniques. You may currently be working as CEO / MD in a similar organisation, and be ready to move into a Group role; or perhaps as No2 in a larger organisation seeking to step into the senior leadership role. Importantly you will understand the differences between larger corporate structures and more dynamic and flexible SME approaches, and will demonstrate an ability to support and interact accordingly.
