Job Title: Quality Technologist
Client: Carrs Foods International
Location: Sharston, South Manchester (easy access M6, M56, M60)
Remuneration: to £30k base salary plus excellent bonus and benefits package (including flexible start time 8am-10am)
Overall Purpose
- Monitor product quality standards of our new and existing lines
- Manage consumer complaints via QADEX system
- Drive product improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions plans, agreed with our European Bakery partners
- Cover for Technical, when the team is out of the business
- Manage branded specifications
Job Content
Internal
- Manage internal Quality Attribute assessment against new and existing lines
- Create Quality Attribute standards for new products, with the help of the NPD Technologist
- Manage UK and US consumer complaints via QADEX system
- Extract complaints cpmu results and communicate those to the business and our Bakery partners
- Identify and draw product improvement programmes, from complaints trend/QAS, with the help of our Bakery partners
- Raise and manage non conformances for our Bakery partners and service suppliers
- Organise microbiological, nutritional and allergens analytical testing, according to annual schedule
- Manage benchmarking panels against our existing lines and competitors – communicate results to the business
- Help with NPD panels, when required
- Manage branded specifications for our customers
- Participate to our annual BRC Agent & Broker audit
- Cover for Technical emergencies when Technical Team is out of business
- Scope to get trained on UK and US own label specifications systems
- Scope to check UK and US artwork
- Scope to visit our European Bakery partners
Supplier facing
- Raise and communicate non conformances to our Bakery partners and service providers, from Quality Attribute results, panels or internal/external feedback
- Communicate complaints cpmu/trend via QADEX system
- Request and approve suppliers specifications for branded products
Key projects
- Monitor quality of our existing products vs agreed quality standards, at the agreed frequency
- Manage product improvement programmes with the help of our Bakery partners to drive complaints level down/improve quality of our existing products
- Maintain product risk assessment table up to date
- Maintain microbiological, nutritional and allergens analytical testing up to date
- Maintain Carrs branded specifications up to date
- Training available for UK/US own label retailer specifications
- Training available for UK/US artwork check

Qualifications / experience:
- Food Industry graduate
