Job Title: European Engineering Manager
Client: A leading scientific instruments business
Salary: £to £65,000 plus pension & phi (relocation assistance available)
Location: M8 corridor, Scotland
Job Purpose: Have overall responsibility for New Product Development for the European Group. To provide management and leadership for the delivery of a comprehensive, innovative and technology led NPD and R&D function.
Have primary responsibility for all aspects of NPD, initally for two of the Group's brands. Ensuring that design and support efforts result in products that are cost effective, manufacturable and conform to relevant global standards.
Stimulate and develop creative thought and action to ensure our client continues to push back the barriers in creative excellence.
Work closely with the 'technical experts' within the brands to support Group engineering function in terms of market and product knowledge.
Technologies involved: In the initial two brands - analytical instruments using Fluorescence/UV/Vis Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectroscopy techniques. Technologies employed by the other businesses include Metrology, Regrigeration, Lasers and various other specialist areas.

Candidate Profile:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Science or Engineering discipline
- Post Graduate qualification would be an advantage
- Experience of successfully delivering product innovation in the scientific instruments sector.
- Direct experience of Mass Spectroscopy would be an advantage but is not essential
